Grade 10-Sampaguita

The long-awaited day finally arrived! On Thursday, February 20, 2025, I conducted my teaching demonstration in Grade 10-Camia and 10-Sampaguita, presenting the Moralist Approach lesson.

At 8:30 AM, after completing my observation, I started teaching in Grade 10-Sampaguita. Initially, I felt anxious and couldn't fully enjoy the experience due to overthinking—I was afraid of making mistakes, especially with my fellow interns observing me. However, the support from my resource teacher and my fellow interns encouraged me. As I saw the students actively participating and engaging in the lesson, I gradually gained confidence and started enjoying the process. Unfortunately, with only 60 minutes available, I couldn't complete all the planned activities, leaving me somewhat dissatisfied with my first class.

Grade 10-Camia

At 2:00 PM, I taught in Grade 10-Camia, where the students warmly welcomed me, boosting my confidence. I began the lesson with a group game, "Is It Okay to Lie?" where students discussed statements and earned points for their answers. Then, I presented my lesson using PowerPoint, asked questions, and introduced an individual game where students differentiated between personal values and community values. In the final session, I conducted a quiz, reviewed the answers together, and recorded their scores. For my teaching approach, I use classroom discussions and problem-based learning. This helps students develop critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems that are essential in their daily lives. Despite the usual afternoon slump when students tend to feel sleepy, they remained interactive and enthusiastic throughout the lesson.

For time management: 10 minutes for the opening, 15 minutes for appreciation, 30 minutes for the lesson and quiz, and 5 minutes for the closing.

I felt deeply satisfied with my class in Grade 10-Camia, as everything went smoothly until the end. A heartfelt thank you to the students of Grade 10-Camia and 10-Sampaguita for their participation and respect. Special thanks to my fellow English student interns (Trishia, John, Austin, Zeus, Stephie, Arturo) for their support, reminding me, "We believe in you, you can do that." And of course, to my resource teacher, Sir CJ, who always encouraged me with his words: "Just enjoy, you need to feel comfortable. You’re amazing, you did your best."
